Bahama day 5- last day :(

We had to check out and be to the bus by 1 so we took the morning easy, got breakfast, packed our bag and headed to the prop club for lunch before having to head out!

So excited to get back and see Jenson!

What should have been a 2 and a 1/2 hour turned into a 8 hours on that dumb plane! Because of storms in Dallas we had to re route to Huston to fuel and wait for the storm to pass.  We had to sit on the tar mat in Huston for a few hours before we got the go head to head back to Dallas.  There was some majorly grouchy people on that plane, lucky we didn't have Jenson with us or I don't know what I would have done.  We didn't get back to Dallas until after 10.  Our original plan was to drive home (because we should have gotten there around 6)  But because it was so late and the storm was still bad we decided Babe would just have to miss a few classes and we would drive home early in the morning!
It was a crappy ending to a wonderful trip, but so worth it!  We made it home in time for Babe to make it to a few classes, so all was not lost!  And we had our Jenson back!  He had so much fun with the Watsons, we got hime back more behaved and a better sleeper when he was with us- I'm not sure he they pulled that off but we are forever thankful!

Happy Anniversary Babe! Thank you for the surprise of a lifetime and best trip around!  Lets do it again soon okay? :)

Bahama day 4

If you know me you know how much I LOVE sunsets and sunrises.  Babe was good enough to wake up bright and early with me so that we could catch the sunrise!  It was so peaceful, empty beaches, and just the sound of the water- I seriously need a beach house where I can do this every day!

The resort was so pretty early in the morning- and quiet! We were also one the first ones to the buffet for breakfast- score!  I ate soo much fruit! I am pretty sure I had a half a pineapple for every meal!

We went back to our room after breakfast and took a little nap before heading to the market to go see Tia at "Ms. D's" (named after her late mother).  She told us all about the different types of straw, where it's from, everything from made in the Bahamas!

Some things she would buy from other islands, ones that did not have tourists on the island- Self reliance at it's finest!

I wanted to buy 1 of everything she had!  We ended up just getting this amazing bag, that she sewed my name into!  A boy riding a bike for Jenson and some trivets!

Later that day we headed out to go sailing/snorkeling! It all started out good until I could tell I didn't take my Dramamine...

The water was so clear!  We saw some schools of fish, and lots of corals! I was afraid to get to deep because some of the corals would sting and burn you so I mostly just floated at the top.  It was probably the combination of the sea moving, not breathing normally, floating, and having my head under the water but I hardly made it back to the boat before I lost everything I ate that day ;)  Good thing there was a bathroom on the boat. Even though I still don't know if I was flushing the toilet right, and there was no lights so I had to leave the door open a little.  Don't worry babe said he didn't hear anything.  I guess I am more like my dad then I thought! haha It was really fun though until I got really sick!  Next time- take Dramamine!

I wasn't really feeling up to much that day so we went back and I tried to sleep off the motion sickness.  We decided to stick to the buffet for dinner so I could just grab a few things that sounded good.  But when we got down there it was closed- for a outdoor "bahama night" instead.  It was even better!  Lots of different options to eat, live music, and people watching! haha

It was our last night so we walked around enjoying the sunset one more time!  There was even an amazing show showing the history of the Bahamian people.  It was our favorite show we went to.  My favorite part was the fire eater/ dancer!

Bahamas Day 3

Sunday Funday!  We knew we wanted to go to church but we were not sure about how to get there, or how much it was going to cost.  It could cost us up to 30$ or more for just the taxi ride there and back.  We decided even if we had to pay it, it was worth it!

Normally there are a few cabs always waiting in the parking lot- today they were all gone.  So we had to call for one to come, like 2 minutes late one pulled up.  We asked the man if it was for us but he was just there to take some of the employees somewhere else. He asked us if we wanted to join them because the church was on the way!  We all smashed in the car and off we went.  Blessing #1 because we figured we would be splitting the cab fair!
When he dropped us off we asked him how much we owed and he just said "nothing, put it in your collection plate".  Lucky for us, that means we got to keep it since we don't have a collection plate. haha It was such a blessing, we knew it was because we were doing the right thing, the Lord was looking out for us!
Church was AMAZING!  The Branch president (Lance Brown) was actually from Utah (Centerville) but was there for work, expanding the port.  It was such a different experience, I have never been to a "branch" that small, but the spirit was so strong.  Or maybe it was because we were not trying to entertain Jenson the whole time and we actually got to listen.. haha
We met some amazing people there, one of which was so nice to take us home, Tia.  She had the cutest little 2 year old (Brigham) and it was making miss Jenson so much!  On our way home she told us her story and how she is carrying her mom's and families tradition in straw making.  Her store was even one of the stores in the market across the street from our resort!  She is such an incredible lady, I could listen to her stories all day!  We were soo excited to go check out her store on Monday!
The rest of the day was just a relaxing lazy one!  There is a little Cafe with ice cream and pastries right by our room- we pretty much got ice cream every day, multiple times a day! haha

Babe took a nap while I painted my nails!

For dinner we went to the Italian Restaurant, YUM!  Oh and that view again?!  I could seriously get used to having a dinner view like that every night while someone else prepares my food!

^^ Digesting on the beach! ^^

It was the perfect Sunday just getting to relax and enjoy each other!  God is good!
