Marshall Jensen

I remember the day (Nov. 18) like it was yesterday.  I was Visiting Teaching when I got the text from Babe that said I needed to come and pick him up from school right away.  It hit me like a ton of bricks as I turned the corner to his school, I knew right then why he needed me to come get him so early.  Marshall and Amanda were in Philly for the 2nd trial of T-cells in hopes to get rid of the cancer taking over Marshalls body.  When Babe got in the car he really didn't have to say anything, we both knew what had just happened.  Marshall was finally free.  He didn't lose his battle to cancer, he kicked cancers butt for 4 years.  I am beyond thankful to have rubbed shoulders with Marshall, I wish I could have known him for longer.  He is the type of person that makes you want to be better yourself, my life was changed forever.  I honestly don't have the words to say, nothing seems to fit right.
Marshall died a few days before Thanksgiving, so babe took a couple days off school and we headed down to Utah for the Funeral and for Thanksgiving. It was just what we needed, and I was happy to be spending time with family for the Holidays.  Babe flew back to Kansas after the funeral and Jenson and I stayed with family until he flew back for Christmas.

The week before the viewing and funeral were some days I will never forget.  I loved learning so much more about Marshall, I wish it didn't take him dying to learn about it all and hear amazing stories from his life.  One of my favorite things was getting to prepare for the Viewing.  Honestly, none of it felt real until then.  I kept thinking he was just going to jump up and be fine, ,and how I wish that was the case.

^^ I knew Marshall loved to read but I never knew how much! This table just had  a few of his favorites^^
There was a non stop line of people at the viewing- the funeral was also packed full with over flow in a lot of the other rooms.  Marshall and Amanda touched (and still do!) so many lives.  Those who came were not even half of them.

^^ All the brothers and dads, they sang "Brightly Beams, Our Fathers Mercy" it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! ^^

So thankful for family that took Jenson all day so I didn't have to worry about chasing him around all day!

It was such a beautiful funeral, what a celebration of life!

We love and miss you everyday Marshall, thank you for changing our lives and continuing to do so!
So thankful for Eternal Families, and that I can be part of this amazing family!

Thanksgiving

This years Thanksgiving was a hard but good one.  We didn't know we would be spending time with family in Idaho but that's just what we did!  This was my first year spending Thanksgiving with the Hunts, and it was just what we needed at the time.
^^ wild turkeys- just encase we didn't get one on time^^ ;)
Driving to Babe's sister's house for Thanksgiving- I love this view!

Nothing like holding a baby to make you feel better this is my newest niece Emri and yes she is the cutest thing ever!

This turkey was so moist the meat was just falling off it!
After a awesome meal we hung out played games, listened to and sang songs, and all got to morn the loss of Marshall together.  Looking back at that time as a family, the spirit was so strong, it was truly a night I will never forget! We are so thankful for eternal families and for the knowledge of the Gospel.   We have so much to be thankful for.

The beginning of vacation

I am trying to catch up on blogging our vacation so here is a random assortment of pictures from the Thanksgiving week! :)
Matching leather jackets for the win!
^^ Non of us had gotten our flu shots yet so we all went to the dr. together and got them!  Well we got the nose spray- how have I not known about those?! ^^

^^ Jenson spent a lot of time in the car, poor kid!  He also got to spend a lot of time with his cousin Kezman- he LOVED all of his guitars and other musical instruments he had! ^^

^^ spontaneous sisters trip to Target! ^^

^^ Church is so much easier when you have multiple hands to keep Jenson entertained!  Minus the fact that Grandpa can't seem to stay awake ;) It was also nice that Uncle Kyron got out of church about the same time we would get out of Sacrament meeting, so we would take Jenson home for a nap and enjoy the rest of church with out worrying about him :) ^^

BYU Vs Mizzou

BYU came to town and we just had to go cheer on our cougars!  The game was at the Arrowhead stadium where the Chiefs play, my first time going there!  (#tourournewtown!)

We had some pretty bad nose bleed seats but thanks to some amazingly awesome friends that invited us to their box, the game was one we wont forget!
Seriously though I was like star struck the whole time- once in a life time opportunity!

Oh and did I mention it was kid free?!  Even better not having to worry about chasing Jenson around!

So the best thing about the Box (besides the seats)  was the dippin dots- I won't even tell you how many I ate haha

Did I also mention all the other food? Brats, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fruit, chips, etc... It was pretty nice since we didn't have dinner before we left!  haha

How cute is this? I always get worried when we leave Jenson (not because I don't think he will be okay- more for the sanity of the babysitter!)

I seriously can't thank these ladies enough, it was so fun and honestly when will we get to hang out in Any Reid's Box, at the Chefs stadium?!  haha Drew your my new best friend- even if you love dogs a little to much haha
Even though we lost it was the perfect night out with my favorite man!
