Jenson- 5 months old!

5 months already? I can't believe how big my little man is getting!
He is about 18lbs, 26 inch. long (we will know percentiles when we go in for his 6th month shots/checkup)
Jenson loves to play in his bouncer and suck on the little giraffe that's on it.  He is pretty independent already, I wish he would be my little cuddly baby but he just isn't :( When he is super fussy and sleepy if we just put him in his crib and leave him alone he tends calms down and eventually falls asleep!  Even though he is not cuddly he does not like to be left alone, if he is up and we are playing and I get up and leave or something {if he notices} then he starts getting fussy until I come back.

He is starting to sit up on his own- he can do it for a few seconds without help but if I put the boppy behind him he tends to sit up straighter and stays up longer {and if he falls he doesn't bang his head!}.  He also just started holding his own bottle-sheesh that is soo nice! I still like to cuddle him when he eats thought because it's about all I can get!

He loves being outside.  He is starting to notice so much more around him so when we go outside he is intrigued the whole time!

He still can't roll over from his back to his stomach {well he can but doesn't want to when we watch}  He lays on his side and turns his head all around so he can see everything going on he just doesn't want to go the rest of the way unless I block him from going back on his back again.  Silly silly boy...

Likes: baths, swimming, eating, playing, outside, binkie, sleeping, rice cereal, kicking, mommy & daddy, turning around in circles/moving around, when we sing to him, swinging, sitting up, standing up sucking on his hands, and playing with his binkie constantly!

Dislikes: being alone, getting dressed, when his bottle is gone

We love you Jenson Matthew!

Ritz Chicken-Easy and FAST!

I think one of the reasons I never want to make dinner is 1. I have no idea what to make. 2. It takes to much time!
I love this yummmmmy recipe and it is so easy and FAST {my favorite!}, and I bet you almost have everything in your kitchen right now!

Here is what you will need:
(I cut this recipe in half, and it's perfect for just Babe, me, and some leftovers!)

4 Chicken Breasts Boiled (shredded or diced)
2 Cans Cream of Chicken Soup
1 Cup Sour Cream
1 1/2 tubes Ritz Crackers Crushed
1/4 Cup Melted Butter
 {1 TBS poppy seeds- if you have them!}
Cooked Rice {to serve over!}

Preheat the oven to 375

Ready for how easy this this?
^^ Place the Chicken {boiled!} on the bottom of a greased 9X13 pan {or smaller if you halved it like me!} ^^
^^ Mix together your can of cream of chicken and 1 cup sour cream ^^
^^pour your soup mixture over the chicken^^
^^ melt your butter and mix in the crushed up ritz crackers with it {if you wanted to add poppy seeds mix them in here as well^^
^^ sprinkle the crackers over the top of the soup^^
^^ Cook covered at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until hot.^^

Serve over rice!

I told you that was easy!  Stayed tuned and I'll show you the easiest way to boil chicken to make this yummy dinner even faster!

Lasagna! So easy even I can make it!

This summer I created a bucket list of things I want to accomplish. One of the things on my list was learning how to cook, and actually making meals every night {if you know me you know that is HUGE for me!} I made a little menu thing where we just draw out random things to eat during the week.  This week Lasagna was on the list- seriously intimidating! Do you know how many recipes and ways to cook lasagna are out there? Well heres another one to add to the batch!

I was pretty scared to attempt this but that is why I have a husband- little did I know he has made this plenty of times and knew just what to do, so I just took note!

What you will need:
Oven ready lasagna noodles
Spaghetti sauce
Ground beef
Cottage cheese
Mozzarella cheese
(you can also use ricotta cheese but we didn't have any)

^^ Brown the hamburger, drain the grease, then add your spaghetti sauce {really just as much as you want, we like ours extra saucy}^^
^^ spray the pan and put a little bit of the sauce you just made on the bottom of the pan.  Start layering your lasagna noodles (every other way, each layer) ^^

Order: noodles, sauce, cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese, noodles (opposite way), sauce, cottage cheese... you get the idea right?

^^ Bake at 350 for an hour!^^

^^ Serve up with some of your favorite sides- our are garlic bread and corn! and ENJOY!!^^

I'm learning how to cook, 1 meal at a time!

What are your favorite {EASY} meals?
Please do share!

Another Zoo post? Gee Wiz!

Babe finished his module yesterday so he doesn't have any classes till Wednesday!  He will only have 1 class {Physics, or the next half of it since he has already been taking it...} and then he will be done with his undergrad and can start in the DC {doctorate of Chiropractic} program!!  I am so proud of him and all of his hard work- crossing my fingers the next few years fly by like this year has {we will be here a year in August- holy cow that went fast, right?} Oh and did I mention he got all A's?  I married one smart handsome man!

Babe's new assignment as work is to do all of the scheduling and being the nice guy he is didn't want to mess everyones schedule up this week so he kept it the same and didn't have work today! I am also pretty sure I can get used to him working the whole schedule-maybe I can get him to stay home more often ;)

To celebrate no work and no school we decided to go to the KC zoo- because who doesn't love the zoo?  I am glad we went early in the morning and were finished before all of the heat and summer camp kids came.  Seriously though as we were walking out I swear {not really...never have} hundred of kids were coming in and buses were still pulling up-phew that was a lucky one!
^^ I am pretty sure the polars bears might be one of my favorites!  Today their was a worker throwing a ball in and the bear would catch it and play with it in the water, bobbing up and down {kind of like when you are in a swimming pool and sit on a ball or hold a ball to help you float.}  Super neat! ^^
^^ His blue eyes kills me, and that smirk- seriously I could die!^^

We decided to skip Africa today and go right to Asia and Australia {if only it was that easy right...} Babe has never been over there either so it was fun to go see those animals!  The kangaroos still get me how they just wander around where ever they want- I could watch them all day, but as Babe said "I have seen Kangaroo Jack, I don't think this is very safe!"  hahah so we didn't stay for very long just incase one did decide to attack us!

 ^^ Because what's a trip to the zoo without a little nap!^^

^^ I may have a slight obsession with these head wraps.. But honestly who want's to do their hair all cute when it's going to go huge and frizzy as soon as the humidity hits it? Why waste the extra time doing it- like I have that much extra time anyway with a 5 month old...^^
We decided to try out the bird show today since it was 80+ with humidity and who doesn't love a air conditioned bird show?  It wasn't as cool as the Hogle Zoo bird show but in all fairness how much can you honestly do with birds inside?  It was still a nice little break to dry out our pits before we went outside again ;)

Thanks Kansas City Zoo you have been good to us.  Good thing we got the season pass so we can come whenever we want!

Swim fishy Swim!

Jenson LOVES the water {he can go from screaming his head off to happy as a clam if we just put him in the bath!} We took him to a real pool the other day and he loved it even more. I  am pretty sure that when he can actually sit up better on his own he will love it even more, and so will we!

^^Yesterday Lindsay set up their little pool for Hailey and invited us over to swim! It was the first time Jenson was actually not sleeping and could go! Heck yes were in!^^
^^ I love my little fish!^^
^^ Even though he looks like he is not enjoying this he really did, just kicking and splashing away^^

^^ They are going to be best friends, whether they like it or not ;) ^^

Just because I talked about his first swimming trip to the pool heres some pictures to document it! ;)

^^ Seriously though, how cute is his swimming suit! We know he has really fair skin {hashtag because i'm a ginger} so this suit coves up most of his body anyway!^^

^^We bad we can't afford to always go to the pool, I guess Haileys blow up pool will work for now. At least until he is old enough to swim on his own! ^^

 ^^ I sure love my boys^^
