Mustache Baby Shower

Thanks to my amazing friends Lindsay and Jennae, I had the most adorable baby shower for Baby Boy!  I can't get over how cute the decorations were and how cute all the stuff he got is.  I can't wait to see our little dude in some of the outfits he was given!  Thank you for everyone that came and for spoiling me and Baby Boy for a few hours!

This was on the door ;)

Thanksgiving- just a little late!

This year was our first year alone for Thanksgiving.  We wanted to be home with our family but with a small time frame and no money, we decided to have our own!  It was our first time making a turkey, even though I am not a real turkey fan it was still amazing!  Babe went to play in our ward Turkey Bowl while I stayed home wrapped up in blankets and watched the Macy's day parade.  It was weird having the house so quiet, I am not a big fan of being alone on the holidays.

mmmm our house smelt sooo good!
We made the whole spread: jello, rolls, turkey, green bean casserole, stuffing, and mashed potatoes!  It sure was yummy!  Being pregnant during Thanksgiving is not the easiest, baby boy must have been sitting on my stomach or something because I could hardly eat anything before I was stuffed!

I sure love this boy of mine! I am so thankful that he has always been here for me.  We had a lot to be thankful for this year, but nothing makes you more thankful for family then when you are away from them.  I am thankful for making new traditions though and excited to many more!

I am also very thankful for my camera and may of had a little to much fun with my remote control! ;)
After dinner, instead of hitting all the stores we decided to go see Catching Fire!  It was sooo good but being 32 weeks pregnant and trying to make it through the 2 1/2 hour show before going to the bathroom was no easy task.  I should have just gone when I needed to so I could have enjoyed the ending of the movie more, but it was to good to leave!  If you haven't seen it you really should go check it out! I think going to a movie might become our new Thanksgiving tradition! :)
We hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving!

Let the anxiety began

Howdy!  I need your help, yet again. ;)

I got asked to substitute teach our relief society lesson on December 1st.  The lesson is on Ch. 23 The Prophet Joseph Smith. I LOVE learning about Joseph Smith, but that also makes me really nervous to teach it.  I haven't read through the lesson yet (I only got asked today...haha) but I feel like this is such a big assignment!  I used to be a relief society teacher in college but for me that was not that big of a deal because everyone was my age.  We were going through most of the same things.  Our meetings were held in classrooms where we had projectors and technology so I could use powerpoint and other visual aids (I guess I take after my dad and LOVE powerpoint, and other visuals. )

But now I feel like I am so inadequate to teach all these ladies in all different stages of life.  I feel like they know so much more than me and could teach it better than I could. I am nervous that I can't hide behind my visual aids (others say things better than I could!) because our church is seriously so outdated.  I know that's not what the lessons are about and probably no one else would care but I do.  This is also a chance for me to break out of my bubble here and for people to get to know who I am.  I want it to be a lesson that they walk away from feeling like they want to be better.  Maybe I am setting the bar a little high for a lesson hey I am my parents daughter.  I rather be over prepared than under!

So my question for you.  When you think about some of your favorite lessons, what was it about that to make it stick out to you?  What did the teacher do to help you feel that?  How do I get the class to participate?

I know everyone has had Joseph Smith lessons.. What was your favorite thing about them?  Any favorite quotes? Stories? Visuals? (Don't worry dad and mom expect lots of phone calls! :))

Thanks for all your help!  Also if there was something I could do that would allow me to sit down that would also be great.  With nerves high and being pregnant I am not sure how long I will be able to stand ;)

If you want to read the lesson online go HERE then make sure to tell me all of your great ideas! But not to great... Maybe if I totally bomb the lesson they will never ask me to do it again! :)  haha

Have you ever looked at a picture and every time you do memories come flooding to your mind?  This picture is one of those pictures for me.  I see this picture everyday (don't mind the picture of a picture...)  and absolutely LOVE it!
I am so thankful that I am so close to my siblings.  They are my biggest examples, I look up to them so much!

I have been counting down the days until I get to them all again (minus Kyron...) 4 weeks left! Sometimes I start crying I am so excited to go home, I just blame that on the hormones though ;).  I have already started my list of everything I want to do while I'm home.  I just can't wait!

Church History Sites

Babe and I are enjoying this beautiful fall weather, so while we still have it we decided to tour some church history sites around us. I love learning about history, especially church history.  I love the stories and trying to learn from them.

We started off our tour at Liberty Jail, what a sacred place this is.  I can't really describe the feeling, it's just something you will have to experience for yourself.  We were walking on holy ground.

Next we headed to Adam-Ondi-Ahman.  It was so pretty with all the trees changing colors.  We want to go back in the spring when everything is green :)

We couldn't of asked for a better day, the sky was blue blue blue.

Preachers Rock.  They say you can stand on this rock and others can stand in the valley below and can here whatever you say, even if you whisper it.  We tried it but it was way to windy to hear a whisper, but just talking normal really worked!  Who knows maybe this is where Joseph Smith once stood! ;)

 I sure love this hunk!

Our final stop for the day was to the Independence Visitor Center (missionaries attack!!)  The bottom floor is all about the history of the church in the Independence area, soo cool.

Have you ever been here?
What did you feel?
Come join us anytime and we can see them together!
